The Kobolds are currently a NPC monster race.
Kobolds are smart, fast, and shifty lizard/rat creatures who belong to The Red Kiln - the empire of the Orcish Khan. They typically serve as scouts but will also often accompany raiding parties with goblins / orcs / ogres / wolves. Kobolds also train small brown wolves to protect their masters.
Kobold scouts should only appear after activating the campaign precursor.
Kobolds wear different coloured hats depending on their rank ranging from common green to blue to red to rare magenta. These hats can be crafted into a series of decorative gongs, but when placed, will trigger a harder tier of raids from The Red Kiln. The recipe of the gongs should be unlocked when the campaign precursor is activated and when a hearthling is near enough to the loot.
